Another one (dream, not final)
Might as well make December a weird dream month. Had another vivid dream last night, part of it was actually a recurring one that I hadn’t had in a long time, so I think its worth jotting down here.
In this one I’m holed up in a mansion of sorts on the second floor, apparently the world has gone south and I’ve found myself in this house which is situated on a steep hill until the crisis carries over. There are large french style windows in the room I’m in which allow sunlight to pour in. The room itself is an enormous ballroom-like library with volumes of books on the shelves, with marble statues and large pillars supporting the ceiling.
There is an old haole man with me, whom I take is the owner of the mansion, he is slightly on the edge, checking the news, and making preparations for what may be around the corner. Trying to pass the time and stay calm, I turn to the rows of books in the hall, looking at the volumes for a familiar title, or area of interest. Instead I find a hidden passageway that leads to a secret room under the main hall. There I see a series of life-like carved sculptures, maybe of ancient Egyptian origin. The I notice one of them start moving, after being awestruck I realize that it is angry and is coming after me.
I rush back to warn the old man. He seems to already know what to do. Apparently it is a guardian whose sole purpose is to ward off intruders and to protect the mansion compound, and I have foolishly woke it up and since it did not recognize me, it thinks that I’m an intruder. After scolding me about waking the guardian, we are interrupted by a bright burning purple ball the size of a billiards ball that comes slamming through the window and hits the fireplace mantle, leaving a purple mark on the wall. As we turn to the fireplace to see the source of the missile, the statue I saw earlier comes crashing through the wall and starts lunging at us. the old man takes a golf driver and starts going to town on the statue. Interestingly, he picks up a large volume of the Texas annotated code and pins the statue’s foot down, allowing him to smash the feet repeatedly with the golf driver, through the old book.
Another part of the dream, or a separate one all together had the elements of a school anxiety one, I was going from room to room in my parent’s house trying to find a clean desk and lamp to study, but kept getting into discussions and arguments with some of my family members. Mostly about relative meaningless things really, but I was getting kind of irritated. Eventually I found a place in the living room, but in my dream I fell asleep, and in real life I woke up feeling pretty groggy and not rested at all.
